    Abstract

Visitor Attractions (VAs) represent a fundamental
element of the tourism landscape. The
emergence and integration of Information and
Communication Technologies (ICTs) in VAs have
not only impacted the modus operandi of
individual operators but also transformed how the
entire sector is distributed and its product
consumed. However, the ICT contribution to the
sector remains blurred as a concept, which
    hinders both practical and theoretical
implications. This essay analyses the most current
literature to illustrate the impact of ICTs in VAs by
introducing the concept of ICT productivity
paradox in tourism and sheds light on current
related trends. This is followed by a brief discussion
which lays out future technological implications
for the sector. The essay further draws attention to
the great need for research to inform Visitor
    Attractions researchers and managers.
